What's Digital Perm?

1. They wash your hair
2. They wait till your hair is half dried
3. They cut (or re-design) your hair
4. They wash your hair again
5. They roll your hair in this blue plastic thing
6. They use rubberbands (and these are really the rubberbands that the hawkers use to tie plastic bags
7. They put huge, thick rubber pads around the plastic thingy. Actually between the plastic thing and your head and ears for protection
8. They put some liquid on your hair - I think this is the liquid which makes your hair cells go cuckoo
9. They bring out this machine as huge as a printer with lots of wired clips hanging around
10. They clip these to the blue plastic.
11. They switch on the machine and you feel heat. This is the part when your cuckoo hair cells are reformed and follows the twirling of your hair around the plastic thing.
12. After 1/2 hour, they detach the wired clips and you can see all your hair curling right up to the top of your head.
13. Hair washing and conditioning time. By this time, your hair becomes long again.
14. Blow drying and voila! It's done!

WARNING! These procedures take about 3 hours so do ensure you reach at least 3 hours ahead of any plans.

Apparently, no chemicals are used so it's safe. Only thing is that your hair cells go cuckoo for a while. It's an additional $50 to $100 more compared to the old method of getting your hair curled but these curls last till the day you cut it off it seems.

By the way, I had this done a month ago so you can't see the big bob anymore where I had to take time to gel my hair and tie half of it up so it doesn't look like a big blob on my head every morning.
