The Art of Letting Go

I've just read this article about human beings. This is what it says :

1. Human beings only want what they do not have
It's so true isn't it? We're always not satisfied and the one thing that we want so much we couldn't have, so we keep chasing after it.
The same goes with someone whom you really want to be with. The more you show them you want to be with them, the more they get sick and tired of you. But if you can make it the other way around, then you become the one who's being sought after because then you are something that they might not have.

2. Human beings resist things that control and restrict them
Give them their freedom of choice and they will respect you for it. They will only hate you if you try to control them or restrict them from doing something because then they lose their freedom. Let them do whatever they want to do, let them be. When they do not seem to get your attention, that is when they miss the attention and return seeking for it.

3. Human beings love themselves more than anything else
I canot seem to decipher this point as it says when you tell someone that you care for them, they will assume that you want them to do something for you and thus you are loving yourself more than them. You must not say things like " But I've done this for you..." because this would mean that they owe you something now. Avoid saying things like "This is your responsibility" because this would mean you only care about yourself and want them to do something only for yourself. This also relates to the second point of restricting their freedom.

The conclusion - Give them freedom of choice and you will end up being the winner.

I feel that this is more the art of letting go. Just let go of the things that are bothering you, give it your 'don't care attitude', let the person who's bothering you do whatever they wish to do. And more importantly, your happiness does not depend on someone. Go ahead and do things that make yourself happy. The only thing that would ease your pain is letting go and letting things run by its own course. And of course it helps to be spiritual.

yup human beings love themselves more than anything else.

it is the tendency of human beings to be selfish but it is the degree of selfishness that separates us.

when some1 says : this is your responsibilities. it's more likely that this person is trying to push the blame on you - blantantly.

be strong, wendy. i know you can do it. i am going thru a bad phase in life now also and we shall go thru the sh*ts together. god bless
